Anđela Vukojević
Anđela Vukojević, third year PhD student at the Department of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, (study program: Molecular Biology, module: Physiology, submodule: Animal and Human Physiology). She completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Niš and graduated in 2018. She continued her master's studies at the same institution and achieved an overall grade point average of 9.27 in 2020. After her master's studies, Anđela completed an internship in the microbiology department of the Medicus Universalis health center in Kruševac. In 2021, she started her doctoral studies and began employment at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković". Her research focuses on investigating the effect of fermented foods on the central nervous system. Her dissertation, is entitled "Effect of pretreatment with sauerkraut brine of a defined composition on oxidative stress and inflammatory processes trough the action of lipopolysaccharide in mice". In addition to her academic activities, Anđela is actively involved in the scientific community as a member of societies, including the Society for Neuroscience of Serbia (DNS), the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), the Serbian Society for Molecular Biology (MolBioS) and the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). She is actively involved in the PIMENTO COST Action, Promoting Innovation of Fermented Foods (CA20128), in the E7 project “PIMENTO E7: The Effects of Lactobacillus sp and/or Bifidobacterium sp in Fermented Foods on Cognitive Health: A Systematic Review”. As part of the same project, she was also involved in the development and implementation of the Fermented Food Questionnaire (FFFQ). She was a participant of the joint FEBS/IUBMB advanced course “Molecular Targets for Antiaging Interventions” in Spetses, Greece, 2022, supported by COST Action ITC Conference Grant. She was awarded the "IUBMB Life Poster Award" at @FebsIUBMB2022 event.
