The Institute for Biological Research Participated in the "Danube Day" celebration with presentation of the Joint Danube Survey 4 expedition. Traditionally on the 29th of June each year 14 countries of the Danube Basin jointly celebrate one of Europe's greatest river systems and the people and wildlife that rely on it. Each year about 200 events took place across the Basin in the weeks either side of Danube.
Since the celebration is focused on young generations, this year in Serbia the "Danube Day" took place on 15th of June, due to the end of School Year.
Danube Day celebration has been initiated 15 years ago by the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR). The aim of this manifestation is rising of public interest for protection of this river which is considered as one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe.
