Thanks to the funding received from the SAIGE project and the call Proof of concept, the team from the Department of Population Genetics and Ecogenotoxicology was able to develop a news service. The project was realized in cooperation with colleagues from the Department for Research and Development in the Field of Sheep and Goat Breeding, Institute of Animal Husbandry. The funds obtained within the aforementioned call allowed the team to develop a sheep genotyping service that includes the use of a specially developed tool with a genetic database and supporting software. The tool is intended for breeders with the aim of providing easy pedigree tracking and assisting in crossbreeding and selection decisions.
