Nikola Stamenković
Nikola Stamenković was born on 29 April 1998 in the municipality of Leskovac. During the academic year of 2017/2018 Nikola enrolled in undergraduate academic studies at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Biology study program of Biology, module Molecular Biology and Physiology. Nikola completed his undergraduate academic studies during the academic year of 2020/2021 as a valedictorian student. In the academic year of 2021/2022, Nikola enrolled in the master academic studies at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Biology study program of Molecular Biology and Physiology, module Molecular Biology and Plant Biotechnology. Master’s thesis entitled as ,,Role of Sodium Nitroprusside on Potential Mitigation of Salt Stress in Centaury (Centaurium erythraea Rafn) Shoots Grown In Vitro” Nikola defended on 24 August 2022 with a grade of 10 and a total of 255 ECTS accumulated during the studies.
During undergraduate studies Nikola volunteered at the Department for microbiological analysis, Jugoinspekt Beograd A.D., and at the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" National Institute of the Republic of Serbia.
In the academic year of 2022/2023, Nikola enrolled in doctoral academic studies at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Biology study program of Biology, module Plant Molecular Biology and Physiology. Nikola is working on his doctoral thesis in the same laboratory where he was working on his master’s thesis at the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, under the mentorship of dr Milana Trifunović-Momčilov. In February 2023 Nikola started to work as a Research Trainee at the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" National Institute of the Republic of Serbia. The areas of Nikola’s research include plant molecular biology and physiology, the interaction between plants and other organisms, and plant response to abiotic and biotic stress.
