The project includes a survey of flora and vegetation with the identification of all existing species in the Veliki Krivelj-Bučje area, then the identification of present insect species with focus on the orders of Lepidoptera, Odonata and Coleoptera, then aquatic macroinvertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. A list of all identified taxa will be presented as a part of the study, with a reference to protection at national and international level.
The aim of the project is to identify in detail biodiversity characteristics of the area where the new mining waste dump landfill is planned. This is crucial for providing information for assess the potential impact of the landfill on the surrounding biodiversity, including protected areas and areas planned for national protection in Serbia, as well as for detailed planning of measures to mitigate potential impact.
