Researchers of the ELEVATE project financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, Program IDEAS, realized their first training school of experimental evolution.

On 15th and 16th of December 2022 IBISS hosted students form the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade and Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. At the training school of experimental evolution, twenty students had a unique opportunity get to know about modern research approaches in evolutionary biology and to master useful writing techniques that will assist them in their future work.

Training school of experimental evolution had a goal to present students with diversity and applicability of experimental evolution in research and to practice formulation of research ideas using experimental evolution.

Members of the ELEVATE project enabled training school participants to:

1. Have an introduction on theoretical groundwork of experimental evolution as a methodological framework in modern biological research
2. Get to know research on seed beetle and how experimental evolution is used in this model organism
3. Have a practical on experimental design and formulation of a research question using experimental evolution
