The Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia has published the final ranking list of projects for funding under the PRISMA program. The Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" participates in six projects, of which it is the leader in four projects.

Approved projects within the PRISMA program in which IBISS is the leader, are the following ones:

“Employing modern aeroponic technology and stress-protective nanoparticles for improved seed potato production under elevated temperature”, coordinator: dr. Ivana Momčilović, Department of Plant Physiology IBISS

“Genetic diversity maintenance and population dynamics in natural populations of endangered plant species: Flower color polymorphism in Iris pumila L.”, coordinator: dr. Danijela Miljković, Department of Evolutionary Biology IBISS

“Inflammation-driven cancer repopulation: seeds of progression and platform for therapy”, coordinator: dr. Danijela Maksimović-Ivanić, Department of Immunology IBISS

“Targeting ferroptosis in diabetes and diabetic complications by hydrogen (per)sulfide”, coordinator: dr. Vesna Otašević, Department of Molecular Biology IBISS

On two projects, colleagues from the Department of Neurobiology, the group of dr. Milica Pešić, participate in the following projects:

“Development of nature-inspired photoresponsive anticancer agents - sclareol and artemisinin derivatives in cancer multidrugresistance models: a foundation for the theranostic approach”, coordinator: prof. dr. Igor Opsenica, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade
