Dr. Snežana Jarić, a scientific advisor of the Institute, together with Dr. Aleksandra Savić, museum advisor of the Museum of Natural History, is the winner of the prestigious museum "Mihailo Valtrović" award in the category - Individual or author team for the project "Hilandar medical codex and Serbian medieval medicine".
This significant recognition was awarded for exceptional results in professional work, achieved during 2023. The project includes an exhibition, an accompanying monograph and a number of additional programs, intending to bring the knowledge of Serbian medieval medicine and pharmacy closer to the public. The project was particularly focused on the presentation of the manuscript - the "Hilandar Medical Codex", one of the most important documents of Serbian medieval medicine, pharmacy and botany.
The award ceremony was held on Monday, September 30, 2024, in the Svetosavski dom at the gate of the Cathedral in Nis, at the Solemn Assembly of the Museum Society of Serbia. The awards were presented by Gordana Pajić, museum advisor and president of the Museum Society of Serbia, and Marina Vlaisavljević, museum advisor and member of the Award Committee.
