Results of the project would be of great significance in providing the answers to three thematic units:

1) application of molecular physiological biomonitoring on aquatic organisms as a model system for monitoring of the effects of single pollutants as biomarkers of oxidative stress,

2) investigation of the effects of toxicants on AOS and the possibility of the application of antioxidants to decrease or eliminate toxic effects and

3) measurement of an adequate biochemical biomarkers of oxidative stress and assessment of therapy effectiveness and choice of appropiate treatment in the early stages of disease.
