Abstract

The project includes an overview of the flora and vegetation with the identification of all species present in the area of Rakita Čok near Žagubica, then the identification of the present species of fungi, then insects, with a special focus on the orders of Lepidoptera, Odonata and Coleoptera, aquatic macroinvertebrates, algae, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, including bats, as well as cave fauna. Within the study, a list of all identified taxa will be presented, with a note on protection at the national and international level.

The goal of the project is to identify in detail the characteristics of biodiversity in the area where the formation of a new mining area is planned. This is vital for providing information for assessing the potential impact of mining on surrounding biodiversity, as well as for detailed planning of mitigation measures for the potential effects of mining.
