Bridging Research and MASLD Patient Care through STRIMHealth Educational Activities

The STRIMHealth team at the University of Belgrade’s Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” organized two impactful educational programs in early April 2025, aiming to strengthen research in metabolic health.

On April 7th, the course Translational Research in Metabolic Dysfunction–Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) brought together researchers and experts to explore cutting-edge findings and best practices in translational science. Speakers highlighted successful academia–industry collaborations and opportunities for clinical application and technology transfer, inspiring participants to translate knowledge into action.

From April 8th to 10th, the workshop Preclinical Models of MASLD provided hands-on training in in vivo and in vitro models, including advanced systems such as 3D organoids and microfluidic cultures. Dr. André Santos and Dr. Vanda Marques led the sessions with expertise and enthusiasm. The program concluded with group work on project proposals, reinforcing practical skills and collaborative thinking.

These events mark another step in STRIMHealth’s mission to build research capacity in Serbia and foster innovation in metabolic health.
