Workshop: Nature Protection and Digital Tools

The workshop “Nature Protection and Digital Tools” will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Ecological Center “Radulovački” in Sremski Karlovci. The event is organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) within the project EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia: Protection and Investments in Biodiversity and Water to Strengthen Climate Resilience.

The aim of the workshop is to present how modern digital tools can contribute to improving nature protection, preserving biodiversity, and adapting ecosystems to climate change. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest technological solutions and information systems implemented in Serbia:

  • National Wetlands Inventory (Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”/Mapsoft),
  • Smart Plot and Disaster Risk Register (Republic Geodetic Authority),
  • Improvement of the Nature Protection Information System (GSC Systems/Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia),
  • Wetland Guardian – a citizen science application (UNDP Tech Cell/IBISS),
  • The use of artificial intelligence for wildlife monitoring at feeding sites (Fruška Gora National Park).


Among the lecturers will be Dr. Tanja Vukov, Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, who will present the National Wetlands Inventory and the Wetland Guardian – citizen science application.
