IBISS associates, Dr. Danijela Maksimović-Ivanić, Dr. Sanja Mijatović, Dr. Melita Vidaković, Dr. Ivana Stojanović and Dr. Tamara Saksida visited Wuhan in China and participated in the work of the Donghu Forum. In addition to participation of our coleagues, scientists from Japan, Cuba, Germany and South Africa were also present. Donghu Forum is an international forum dedicated to the integration of engineering into medicine and establishing cooperation that leads to innovative solutions in medicine. At the Donghu forum, Dr. Melita Vidaković presented the work of our institute in its entirety, then research in the field of biomedicine, as well as the work of her group.
Dr. Melita Vidaković and Dr. Ivana Stojanović were promoted to visiting professors at the Hubei University of Technology.
TargetedResponse project Workshop (Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia) was held on October 21, 2024, in the Ceremonial Hall at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. The workshop brought together researchers and clinicians to present updates in the field of functional diagnostics for lung cancer.
The workshop was opened by Prof. Nataša Milić, Vice Dean for Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Medicine, and Ana Vitas, a representative of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, along with the project leader, Dr. Milica Pešić, who presented the main results of the project.
Key presentations included Dr. Stefan Hadžić on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer, Dr. Davorin Radosavljević on advancements in lung cancer treatment, Dr. Joanna Kopecka on immune checkpoint inhibitors, Dr. Milena Čavić on liquid biopsies, and Dr. Robin Jansen on RAS-driven tumor therapies. The leaders of the TargetedResponse work packages—Dr. Jelena Dinić, Dr. Miodrag Dragoj, and Dr. Ana Podolski-Renić— also presented the latest results as the project approaches its conclusion.

Otvorena nauka je pokret koji omogućava svim društvenim slojevima, amaterima i profesionalcima, pristup naučnim istraživanjima i podacima, uz aktivno učešće u diseminaciji informacija. Obuhvata prakse poput otvorenih istraživanja, otvorenog pristupa i podsticanja naučnika da se bave otvorenom naukom, olakšavajući razmenu znanja. Osim dostupnosti, otvorena nauka podrazumeva inkluzivno, pravično i održivo stvaranje znanja.

UNESCO je 2021. usvojio Preporuke otvorene nauke namenjene naučno istraživačkim organizacijama, istraživačima i akterima koji se bave pravilima, politikama i etikom nauke.

Istraživački podaci su svi rezultati koji se dobiju tokom istraživačkog procesa. To mogu biti istraživački rezultati, merenja, fotografije, grafikoni, analize,... Platforma DSpace na kojoj je RADaR izgrađen zadovoljava sve trenutno postavljene zahteve za pohranjivanje, čuvanje i diseminaciju istraživačkih podataka.

Upravljanje otvorenim istraživačkim podacima za istraživače - Video zapis
Upravljanje istraživačkim podacima (Research Data Management - RDM) obuhvata niz aktivnosti koje istraživači zajednički definišu i primenjuju kako bi na efikasan način prikupili, organizovali i sačuvali svoje podatke za buduću upotrebu, uključujući i njihovu razmenu sa drugim istraživačima.
Istraživački podaci omogućavaju drugim istraživačima da ponove eksperimente, primene drugačiju metodologiju ili provere verodostojnost istraživanja zasnovanog na tim podacima. Definisan Plan upravljanje istraživačkim podacima postaje sve češći zahtev izdavača, naučnih institucija i finansijera istraživanja, čime se ispunjavaju zahtevi Otvorene nauke.
IBISS je izradio Smernice za pisanje Plana upravljanja istraživačkim podacima za istraživače Instituta.
Tim za otvorenu nauku u Srbiji - TONuS je izradio sajt o upravljaju istraživačkim podacima na srpskom jeziku.

Preprint je verzija naučnog rada koji je javno objavljen, ali još nije podvrgnut recenziji niti je objavljen u nekom naučnom časopisu. Obično se objavljuju u javnim, obično tematskim repozitorijumima koji se nazivaju serveri za preprint. Jednom objavljen, preprint postaje trajni naučni dokument koji može da se citira. Ovi serveri obično dodeljuju DOI broj ovim radovima. Neki Serveri za preprint imaju opciju javnog komentarisanja što se može posmatrati neformalnom otvorenom recenzijom. Preprintovi mogu biti objavljeni i u repozitorijumu koji objavljuju sadržaj u otvorenom pristupu, pored finalne, recenzirane verzije naučnog rada. Na taj način autori nemaju troškove za objavljivanje rada u preprint-formatu. Preprintovi su uspostavljena praksa u nekim disciplinama, npr. u fizici, matematici i astronomiji, a pojavljuje se kao uobičajena praksa u drugim oblastima, uključujući u oblastima biomedicinskih i društvenih nauka. Procesi i vreme se razlikuju između objavljivanja na serverima za preprint i objavljivanja časopisa. Preprintovi mogu biti dostupni za pregled zajednice, dok će u publikaciji časopisa proces recenzije biti duži, a rad tradicionalno nije dostupan zajednici za pregled.
Sve veći broj izdavača dozvoljava da se radovi objavljuju na serverima za preprint pre podnošenja za objavljivanje u njihovom časopisu. Jedan broj izdavača i dalje sledi Ingelfingerovo pravilo i ne prihvata radove koji su prethodno objavljeni na nekom drugom mestu. Ipak sa razvojem Otvorene nauke, ovakvih časopisa je sve manje. Ipak, mnogi časopisi zabranjuju ili obeshrabruju upotrebu preprintova u referencama jer se ne smatraju verodostojnim izvorima.

Otvorena recenzija je jedan od stubova Otvorene nauke i predstavlja značajnu modifikaciju tradicionalnog proces naučne recenzije koja se ogleda u tri segmenta: 1. otvoreni identiteti – autori znaju ko su recenzenti i recenzenti znaju ko su autori rada; 2. otvoreni izveštaji – izveštaj recenzenta je objavljen pored samog rada; 3. otvoreno učešće – šira javnost je u mogućnosti da svojim komentarima doprinese procesu recenzije, što je takođe vidljivo uz sam rad.
Ovaj otvoren pristup naučne recenzije ima za cilj da prevaziđe nedostatke tradicionalnog pristupa, posebno manjak transparentnosti, motivacije i uznemiravanje koje je moguće kada recenzent može da nastupi anonimno.
Građanska nauka (engl. citizen science) predstavlja participativnu metodu u naučnim istraživanjima, gde se javnost aktivno uključuje u istraživački proces. Ovaj pristup omogućava građanima, koji nisu stručnjaci u određenim oblastima, da aktivno učestvuju u naučnim projektima kroz svoje znanje, alate i resurse. Građanska naučna istraživanja obuhvataju razne discipline i teme, uključujući učesnike različitih nivoa stručnosti. Građani prikupljaju podatke, postavljaju pitanja i doprinose razvoju naučne kulture, dok stiču nova znanja i veštine. Građanska nauka omogućava prikupljanje obimnih podataka, istraživanje složenih tema i demokratizaciju naučnog procesa, promovišući saradnju i osećaj zajedništva.
Centar za promociju nauke u Srbiji raspisuje pozive za Građanska naučna istraživanja i za te potrebe je izradio Vodič kroz građanska naučna istraživanja u kome je dat opis, definicije i objašnjenja ove metode istraživanja.

The aim of the repository is to provide open access to IBISS publications and the results of research carried out at this institute. The software platform, which consists of open source software DSpace, was provided by the Computer Center of the University of Belgrade. It is adapted to modern standards applied in the dissemination of scientific publications (compliance with the requirements of the European Commission regarding open access to publications; dissemination through OpenAire, BASE, CORE, Google Scholar, etc.; integrated ORCID identifiers).

An external application that integrates key elements of CRIS, providing effective solutions to challenges that DSpace cannot fully address.
A group of researchers from Stanford University has updated the database of authors with standardized citation indicators and published the results for 2023. This list includes the most cited scientists from all fields of science. Among them, once again this year, are our four colleagues from the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković," Dr. Marina Soković, Dr. Jasmina Glamočlija, and Dr. Marija Ivanov, associates of the Department of Plant Physiology, and Dr. Marko Prokić, associete of the Department of Physiology.
The list of the most influential scientists was created to assess the impact of scientists and their work from several different perspectives. The authors of the list used data from the Scopus database, which contains over 8 million authors, and compiled a list of the most cited authors across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. The database of the most cited scientists provides standardized information on citations, the h-index, co-authorship, citations of papers at different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score). Separate data are presented for career-long impact and single recent year impact. Metrics are shown with and without self-citations, as well as the ratio of citations to citing papers. Information is also provided on retracted papers (based on the Retraction Watch database) and citations to/from retracted papers.
The calculations were performed by processing author profile data in Scopus as of August 1, 2024. The authors of this list emphasize that the published version reflects the author profiles in the Scopus database at the time of calculation and advise authors to regularly check and update their profiles in Scopus.

The workshop "Problems and obstacles in geometric morphometrics 3" will be held On 10 and 11 October in the IBISS library. The guest of the workshop is Dr. Andrea Cardini from the University of Modena, who will give an introductory lecture. The organisation of the workshop was supported by the Faculty of Biology and IBISS and is free of charge for participants.
The aim of the workshop is to inform each other about current research and plans as well as about the problems and obstacles we encounter in geometric morphometrics.
