The STRIMHealth team at the University of Belgrade – Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” is pleased to announce the Workshop on Preclinical Models of Metabolic Dysfunction–Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). The workshop will take place on-site at the IBISS Library, Belgrade, Serbia, from April 8–10, 2025.
While the workshop will primarily focus on MASLD models, the presentations will also address key metabolic disease endpoints, such as type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Main Topics:
- In vitro and in vivo MASLD models
- 3D in vitro models – organoids and spheroids
- Relevant phenotypic endpoints
- Microbiota and the gut-liver axis in MASLD
This intensive three-day workshop will include both on-site and online theoretical lectures, as well as an on-site group work session. It is organized by Dr. André Santos, Dr. Vanda Marques, and Prof. Dr. Cecília Rodrigues from the Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, in collaboration with international experts. The official language of the workshop is English.
The workshop is open to PhD students and employees from universities in the Republic of Serbia or Serbian partner institutions. Early-stage researchers are especially encouraged to apply.
