The Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" participates in the realization of the Joint Danube Survey 4 as a part of international and Serbian national team. This international expedition is fourth complex scientific survey organized since 2001 each sixth year (to be harmonized with River Basing Management Planning procedure), in organization of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), and with support of the European Commission and “Danubian” countries, with aim to rise general knowledge about the river processes, status and public interest in scientific activities along the Danube.
IBISS participated in all JDS since 2001.
The Institute for Biological Research Participated in the "Danube Day" celebration with presentation of the Joint Danube Survey 4 expedition. Traditionally on the 29th of June each year 14 countries of the Danube Basin jointly celebrate one of Europe's greatest river systems and the people and wildlife that rely on it. Each year about 200 events took place across the Basin in the weeks either side of Danube.
Since the celebration is focused on young generations, this year in Serbia the "Danube Day" took place on 15th of June, due to the end of School Year.
