The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) was established by the European Union as an independent body whose aim is to strengthen Europe's competitiveness in the sphere of innovation. Since October, IBISS has become a member of the EIT Food section, the world's largest network through which innovations in food production, agriculture, research and promotion of natural products and related topics are generated and developed. In this connection, three priority directions were defined:
1. Healthier lives through food
2. Reducing risk for a fair and resilient food system
3. Net zero food system.
Members of our EIT Food team will introduce you to the EIT Food organization, the importance of the partnership for IBISS and possible research funding models.
Dr. Ivana Budinski, Senior Research Associate at IBISS, received the Spallanzani Award from the North American Society for Bat Research. The Spallanzani Award supports distinguished bat researchers from outside North America in attending the North American Symposium for Bat Research (NASBR). As an awardee, she was invited to give a talk about her research at the 52nd NASBR, held last week in Guadalajara, Mexico.
