World Circular Economy Forum 2024 - Accelerator Session: Insects-based solutions for a circular bioeconomy, will be held on April 18th, 2024, at 14:00-15:30. Place of the forum: hybrid – Premises of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union, Boulevard du Regent 53, 1000 BRUXELLES, and online via ZOOM platform.

Dr. Jelena Stanković, research associate from the Department of Hydroecology and Water Protection is the winner of the Svetosavska Charter awarded by the Svetosavska Academy of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Niš for the exceptional success achieved in the doctoral studies of the Department of Biology and Ecology.

At the suggestion of a group of librarians, and with the support of the SAIGE project, a two-day workshop on Research Data Management (RDM) was held on December 21 and 22, 2023 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade.

The delegation of the National Research Center for Tropical and Transboundary Diseases, Zintan, Libya, headed by the director prof. Dr. Abdulwahab Kammon, visited IBISS this week.

On 20th March, the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia celebrated celebrated 5 years since its establishment. On this occasion, for the first time, the Fund awarded 10 prizes to researchers for outstanding contributions to science through the Fund's projects. One of the winners of this award is our colleague from the Department of Physiology, Dr. Aleksandra Janković, PI of the completed PROMIS project "WARMED", for her contribution to Open Science.

Within the program Proof of Concept, the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia will finance the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" project DefensivACME. The project coordinator is Dr. Aleksandra Popov Aleksandrov.

Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" received a project within the call HORIZON-MSCA-2023-CITIZENS-01, the project leader of the ReFocuS FLOW project is Dr. Jasmina Nestorović Živković from the Department of Plant Physiology.

At the contest of the "Veselin Lučić" Endowment for the best scientific/professional achievement of teachers and associates of the University of Belgrade for the year 2022, an article by Mandić M. et al. “MAP kinase-dependent autophagy controls phorbol myristate acetate-induced macrophage differentiation of HL-60 leukemia cells” published in the journal Life Sciences 297:120481 was selected.

On Thursday, February 8, a delegation from the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, led by Director Dr. Milica Đurić-Jovicic, visited the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković".
