At the contest of the "Veselin Lučić" Endowment for the best scientific/professional achievement of teachers and associates of the University of Belgrade for the year 2022, an article by Mandić M. et al. “MAP kinase-dependent autophagy controls phorbol myristate acetate-induced macrophage differentiation of HL-60 leukemia cells” published in the journal Life Sciences 297:120481 was selected.

On Thursday, February 8, a delegation from the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, led by Director Dr. Milica Đurić-Jovicic, visited the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković".

Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" received a project within the Тwinning call HORIZON-WIDERA-2023.

A Bioinformatics course was held in the IBISS library from January 15 to January 19, 2024, for Institute researchers. The course was taught by Dr. Thomas Mohr.

Awarded the Desa Lilić and Mario Abinun Trust Fund for the advancement of Clinical Immunology in Serbia.

On Tuesday, January 30th, 2024. new members of AdVitam Laboratory presented their work directions for establishing collaboration with the Department of Neurobiology at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković".

One of this year's winners of the "Goran Ljubijankić" Foundation award is our colleague Dr. Marija Đorđević from the Department of Molecular Biology for the Ph.D. Dissertation "Transdifferentiation of mouse pancreatic alpha cells into cells that produce insulin by targeted DNA methylation using the EpiCRISPR system", under the mentorship of Dr. Jelena Arambašić-Jovanović and Dr. Melita Vidaković from the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković".

As part of the capital equipment procurement for the year 2023, the SeqStudio™ Genetic Analyzer System (Applied Biosystems) has been installed at IBISS. Interested researchers underwent training on how to use this device from January 12th to January 13th, 2024.

The Biological Research Society "Josif Pančić" distributed a certificate of gratitude to the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" for active cooperation during the 45 years of the Society's existence.

Today in Belgrade, the construction of the BIO4 campus has commenced, with a total worth of 450 million euros. This multidisciplinary project integrates biomedicine, biotechnology, bioinformatics, and biodiversity. The campus is intended to accommodate faculties and scientific institutions, including IBISS.
